Award Winning Cupcakes!!!

I am so thrilled to announce that Alexandria's Creations has {wait for it} won an award for the Best Halloween Dish!!! Well it's not exactly from any top food Institute or anything but I am still proud, a customer placed an order for 'something creative' to take to a Halloween party and what she got was a creepy treat, I just love when I can be creative! I decided on Red Velvet Cupcakes topped with Edible Blood and Candy Broken Glass!!! This was especially fun for me as it was my first experience with making candy glass and though I may not make it often it is definitely something that is going down in my handy recipe book!!! Remember Alexandria's Creations is here to turn your dreams into memories and Lisa gets bragging rights among her friends all year for the delicious and creative cupcakes she brought to the party!!!

Creepy!!!

All ready to go impress everyone!

Chicken and Waffle Cupcakes... {say it isn't so}...

I am a huge fan of the southern favorite, which thankfully is migrating its way all over, Chicken and Waffles and with my love for trying new things I didn't see a reason why this could not be adapted into a cupcake! The result... a light and fluffy vanilla buttermilk cupcake with a maple syrup glaze and a maple buttercream icing, and I forgot the best part... there is chicken baked into the middle {what a delightful surprise}. This cupcake is perfect to WOW your guests at a brunch or for any special occasion really {These babies make Monday morning worth celebrating}. I will advise that they need to be consumed immediately, I don't think that will be a problem anyway... good thing I bake everything fresh to order!

I also wanted to add that I visited Georgetown Cupcakes in Washington DC and gained so much inspiration, this visit makes me even more passionate about my craft and I will be trying out some of my recipes with new ingredients soon so stay posted!!!

William & Amber's 5th Year Wedding Anniversary

I hope I have not lost all of my blog followers but for you who have been keeping up with me, as sporadic as I have been lately, we welcomed our second daughter London on 7/11 so you can imagine how busy this time has been!!! I hope you all continue to bare with me as I plan to get the test kitchen going in full drive while I am at home with the girls!

Anywho... let me start off by saying that this is one of my favorite married couples!!! William, or Bink as we call him, is my hubby's best friend and his wife is a super cool lady herself and we do not get to see them very often since they moved out of state but as soon as they contacted me about having a 5 year wedding anniversary party I knew this was going to be fun! Their only request was that they had to have my 'famous' Fresh Strawberry cupcakes and from there they gave me creative freedom to make some classy treats for their guests so I did just that... Fresh Strawberry, French Vanilla and Chocolate Cupcakes along with Tuxedo Dipped Oreos, Chocolate Covered Pretzel Rods and Strawberries!

Tuxedo Dipped Golden Oreos

Cupcakes, cupcakes everywhere... here are just a few dozen (Chocolate, French Vanilla and Fresh Strawberry)

Baby Quincy's Shower

I know I have not blogged in awhile so please forgive me but things have been so busy lately with my 19 month old daughter and being 7 months pregnant myself time does not always seem to be on my side! I have still been creating fabulous memories through Alexandria's Creations but I have not been updating you all on things, shame on me!

I was so honored to be able to create a dessert buffet for my daughter's daycare provider, as I call her 'Sydney's other Mommy', at her recent shower so I had to share! I just love Ms. Kia to pieces so I wanted to incorporate all of her favorite treats of mine so that her guests could enjoy her pregnancy tastes! Enough talking on to the pictures... Enjoy and remember to contact Alexandria's Creations for all of your dessert/candy buffet needs!

Full view of the table (from right to left: Alexandria's Brownies Supreme, Hershey Kisses for the little Price, Suckers, Snickers and Oreo Ice Cream Cake)

The brownies are Dad's favorite

The front cakes were made by a different bakery but I did make Mom's absolute favorite Fresh Strawberry Cupcakes... all 4 dozen of these were gone within minutes!

My Baking Year Thus Far

Why has it been so long since I have written a post you might ask... it sure isn't because I haven't been cooking for my family and friends but more so because I was so caught up in the holidays and then getting back into the swing of things with work at the beginning of the year, my apologies  Ooh, yeah, HAPPY NEW YEAR, better late than never right? My cooking year so far has been pretty fun creating different cupcakes for different occasions though I look forward to trying new recipes whenever I can. I may go on a 4, or so, week challenge to try a new recipe each week, I think that sounds good and my co-workers will surely be happy!

Enough yapping, on to the pictures, my favorite part of any blog! I had the please of creating cupcakes and cake pops for my best friend's nephew's birthday party with a car theme. Since he was turning 4 why not monster cars instead of the traditional Disney Cars theme!

What are monster car cupcakes without a little dirt and grass???

Can we say sugar rush for the kids??? And adults possibly!!!

I also had the pleasure of making cupcakes for my neighbor's baby shower! I made her one of my chocolate with salted caramel drizzle several months ago so she had to have those and she also wanted a dozen fresh strawberry cupcakes... from what I hear they were a hit and hopefully that means more opportunities for Alexandria's Creations!

Only FRESH strawberries in these babies

Look at that drizzle!!!
